40 minutes from Nuuk with a speed boat, in between some islands, there was a graveyard for ships. The ships were just left to rust away. I guess it was cheaper to do this practice rather than tow the ships to a place where they would get dismantled.
The world only cares about money and not really the environment. Hopefully the ships are cleaned for oil and fuel.
I had read about the hill / mountain, "Lille Malene" behind Nuuk before I came to the city. It is not a very high hill but a trail runs around it, with beautiful views of the fjords, surrounding mountains and lakes.
When the opportunity came to do the 15 km trail run around "Lille Malene", heavy clouds engulfed "Lille Malene" and blocked all views. It was not a bad run and the clouds made it all very mysterious, but if I could have chosen, I would trade clouds in for beautiful views any day.
